Name That Face — Support
Name That Face turns a PDF of headshots into a deck of flashcards, so you can walk into a room of strangers on Monday and greet all of them by name on Friday. Everything happens on your phone.

Getting started
Tap + and choose Import a PDF. Pick a file of headshots with names printed near them. The app renders every page, finds every face, reads the name next to it, and hands you a review screen. Check the names, fix anything it misread, then add everyone.
No PDF yet? The app comes with a sample deck of US Presidents so you can try the game first.
How studying works
You start with three faces, not the whole group. Say the name out loud, tap the card to check, then swipe right if you knew it and left if you didn't. When you're ready for more people, tap Add Face. A new face comes around often; once you keep getting someone right, they come around less. Blank on someone you thought you knew and they'll start showing up more again. You don't manage any of this.
What kind of PDF works?
Anything where each person's name is printed near their photo — below it, above it, or beside it. Class rosters, cast lists, yearbook pages, staff directories and conference programs all work. Small type is fine.
It needs a real PDF, not a photo of a printed page. If your sheet is on paper, scan it to PDF first — the Files app on iPhone can do this from the camera.
A name came out wrong
Tap the name on the review screen and edit it. The field grows so you can see the whole thing, and Done finishes the edit. You can also fix a name later: tap the person in their group and edit them there.
Part of the printed name is showing in the photo
Tap the photo — on the review screen or on a person — and the cropper opens. Trim it out and tap Done. The original is kept, so you can always reset a crop or redo it.
Somebody got missed
If a face didn't come through, add them by hand: open the group, tap +, then Add Person, and take a photo or choose one from your library.
Can I remove someone, or start over?
Swipe to delete a group from the home screen. Inside a group, tap a person and choose Delete Person. To keep a group but wipe your progress, use Reset Progress in the group's menu.
Is my data private?
Yes, completely. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. The app never sends anything anywhere — the faces you import stay on your iPhone. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
This matters most for the obvious case: if those headshots are students, their photos never leave your phone.
Does it sync between my devices?
Not yet. Decks live on the iPhone you made them on.
