Building

Name That Face is on the App Store — my first app there. Built it for myself at a theater conservatory, then another teacher asked for it, which is when a tool for one person has to work on somebody else's phone.

Turns out that's most of the work: the extraction assumed my PDFs, the first screen never said what the app was for, and it fell apart at the largest text size. None of that shows in a demo. All of it is the difference between something I use and something anyone can.

Doing

100 burpees. Every day. On camera. Started as a fitness thing, became a shipping-discipline thing. Nothing teaches product like being your own most annoyed user seven days a week.

Located

New York City. Specifically, wherever the wifi is decent, which narrows it to about four places.

Reading

Whatever's in the browser tab I didn't mean to leave open. Also actual books, occasionally.

Thinking about

What one person can ship now that the bottleneck isn't typing speed. Still convinced the play is specificity. Increasingly convinced the second skill is knowing how much to trust the machine, and when.
